We record your income, expenses and bank transactions on an agreed schedule, usually monthly. You see up-to-date figures, and returns to the Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto) can be filed correctly and on time.
Under the Accounting Act (kirjanpitolaki), every business – including a sole trader (toiminimi) – is required to keep accounts. Bookkeeping means that every item of the company's income, expenditure, loans and payments is recorded in the system on the basis of a supporting document. This produces the income statement, the balance sheet and the information needed for taxation.
Ongoing bookkeeping is done regularly, usually every month. Bank transactions are reconciled with the supporting documents so that the figures reflect reality. Up-to-date accounts show you how the business is doing, and VAT returns (ALV-ilmoitus) can be filed correctly and on time.
Accounting records must be kept for the periods set by law: as a rule, supporting documents for six years and the financial statements (tilinpäätös) for ten years from the end of the financial year.
Who is the service for? For sole traders and limited companies (osakeyhtiö, Oy) that want their bookkeeping done regularly and on time.
The service includes
What we do
We record sales, purchases, bank transactions and other documents on an agreed schedule.
We reconcile your bank accounts, i.e. check that the balances in the books match the bank's, and clear up any open items.
We prepare the periodic VAT calculations and file the returns as agreed.
We provide the income statement and balance sheet in their basic form.
We let you know if documents are missing or an entry needs clarifying.
Your part
What we need from you
Receipts and purchase invoices electronically, in the agreed way
Access to your bank data, or bank statements
Sales invoices, or access to your invoicing software
Information on any unusual transactions, such as loans or large purchases
Yes. A sole trader is also required to keep accounts. The scope of the bookkeeping depends on the size of the business, and we agree on a suitable approach together.
What is a transaction line?
A transaction line is, for example, a single bank account, sales invoice, purchase invoice or cash transaction. Monthly packages include a maximum number of lines, and any lines above that are priced separately according to the price list.
Can I change accounting firm in the middle of the financial year?
Yes. The handover is best done in a controlled way: we agree with your previous accountant where we will pick up from and which records will be transferred.
