Cooperation
Terms of cooperation in plain language
We explain in advance how working with an accounting firm works: what is agreed, who is responsible for what and how the work progresses. The exact terms are always set out in a written agreement.
Principles of cooperation
What working together means
This page describes the principles of our cooperation in general terms. They do not replace the agreement: the content, price and terms of your company's service are agreed in the engagement agreement.
-
1. Engagement agreement
Before starting work, we sign a written engagement agreement (toimeksiantosopimus). It sets out which services we handle, on what pricing basis, on what schedule and how responsibilities are divided.
Finnish accounting firms commonly attach the general terms of the Finnish Association of Accounting Firms (TAL-ehdot) to the agreement. Which general terms apply to our cooperation is agreed in the agreement.
What this means for you
Before we start, you know what the work includes and what it costs. If your needs change, we can update the agreement together.
-
2. Pricing
Our prices are based on a public price list. Prices exclude VAT (ALV). For bookkeeping you can choose a fixed monthly package when the scope of the service is predictable, or pricing based on the number of transactions. Other services are priced according to the lines of the price list.
The final monthly price is always agreed based on the client's actual needs, the quality of the records and the number of transactions.
Official fees and costs from external service providers are invoiced separately at actual cost. Urgent work +50 %.
What this means for you
You see the basis for the price in advance. When records arrive in good order and on time, the work takes less time – and that is reflected in the price.
-
3. Delivery of records
Bookkeeping is based on the records you provide: receipts, purchase and sales invoices, bank statements, contracts and payroll data. Records are delivered regularly in the agreed electronic way.
Timing matters because official filings have strict deadlines. For example, the VAT return (ALV-ilmoitus) is filed for each period by the deadline set by the Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto), and payroll data must as a rule be reported to the Incomes Register (tulorekisteri) no later than the fifth calendar day after the payday.
The date by which the records for each period must reach us is set out in the agreement.
What this means for you
When we have your records on the agreed date, filings are made on time and no late-filing penalties arise. If something is missing, we will ask you.
-
4. Division of responsibilities
Under the Accounting Act, the obligation to keep accounts lies with the company itself. Responsibility for the bookkeeping and filings therefore remains with the company even when the work is outsourced to an accounting firm.
You are responsible for ensuring that the records you provide are correct and complete, and for decisions concerning the company's business.
We are responsible for carrying out the agreed work carefully, professionally and on the agreed schedule, and for letting you know if we notice gaps or unclear points in the records.
What this means for you
We do the work for you, but you know your business best. Tell us about changes and unusual transactions in good time so that they are handled correctly.
-
5. Invoicing and payment terms
We invoice the agreed services regularly. Monthly packages and ongoing services are invoiced on the agreed schedule, and one-off work once it is completed or as agreed.
The invoicing interval, payment period and other payment terms are set out in the agreement.
What this means for you
Your invoice shows what the charge is made up of. If anything on the invoice is unclear, just ask us.
-
6. Data protection and confidentiality
We treat the data of your company and your employees as confidential. We do not disclose it to third parties except where required by law or as agreed with you, for example in filings with the authorities.
Personal data is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national legislation. When doing your bookkeeping and payroll, we process personal data on your behalf.
What this means for you
Your data stays confidential. You can ask us at any time how your data is processed.

8. Ending the agreement and handing over records
The notice period and the arrangements for ending the agreement are set out in the agreement.
When our cooperation ends, we hand over your company's accounting records to you or your new bookkeeper as agreed. We tell you up to what point the work has been done and which filings are still outstanding, so that the transfer goes smoothly.
What this means for you
The records belong to your company. You will have access to them even if you change bookkeeper.
